  1. Chris-
Trying to get things accomplished through the VA is frustrating at best! I know David and he's a good guy. In fact, we took part in this film www.allthewayback.com which was recently shown to Congress. I served three tours in the Gulf and I'm rated 100% permanently disabled through the VA. I run a similar program to Project Healing Waters. The main difference is we've kept things small and out of the public spotlight. Our guides are top-notch, 2 have won the Jackson Hole one fly, and one has guided the VP Cheney. We all volunteer our time and talents.
I have contact with a number of deserving soldiers. I can help put you in contact.

What you are trying to accomplish is very commendable! This is a once in a lifetime kind of opportunity. The VA will not allow us to use our GI BILL money for taking bamboo rod building classes. Their reasoning- none of the Boo builders run an "accredited school". The cost of rod building classes can prohibit many veterans from enrolling(myself included).

If I can help in anyway-please feel free to contact me.
    Sincerely,
    Vance Wasden

    Hi Vance,
I have heard back from the director of PHWFF, and he is positive that we will have this occur. This is great! I appreciate your support, and will stay in touch. I am sure I will need more help as time goes by.
    Regards,
    Chris
